Written By Preeti Singh, Bollywood Story

Vidya Balan in The Dirty PictureFilmen sirf 3 cheezon ki wajah se chalti hain, Entertainment, entertainment, entertainment..., voiced by Vidya Balan, Rajat Arora’s dialogue from The Dirty Picture {2011} conveys the true essence of the Indian Film Industry. We love it for its sheer melodrama, awesome Music and killer Dialogues. Yes, dialogues that have carried the burden of making films popular, single-handed.

This sequel of Killer Dialogues of Bollywood part-I unfolds the most popular and mantrap talks from the 80s and onwards. Read on...

Amitabh in SharabiMoochhen hon to Nathhulal ji jaisi hon, warna na hon.” This hilarious take on one of his employees nathhulaal’s mustache by Vicky Kapoor (Amitabh Bachchan) is from my favourite Amitabh movie Sharaabi {1984}. (Dialogue by the Hilarious Kadar khan himself )

Amrish puri in Mr. IndiaMogambo Khush hua” …The Cult dialogue by the cult Villain from a cult movie…Mogambo is more than happy in Shekhar Kapoor’s one of its kind sci-fi film Mr. India {1987}. I have watched it 100 times and still can’t get enough of the kids and the invisibility formula. (Dialogues by Salim-Javed)

Aj Shaam ko maut ke saath apna Apeentment hai, kya apeentment…” Amitabh in Agneepth The rather husky Amitabh Bachchan (Vijay DeenaNath Chauhan) from Agneepath {1990} casts an irrational impact upon the audience. (Dialogue by Kadar Khan, did you know this man was so versatilely talented? )

Sunny Deol in GhayalUtaar ke phenk do ye wardi aur pehen lo balwant rai ka patta apne gale mein…”  Trapped in the cobweb of High-level corruption, Ajay Mehra (Sunny Deol) from Ghayal {1990} outbursts.  (Dialogue by Dilip Shukla)

Shahrukh in DarrI love you kkkiran” The psycho lover antagonist Rahul Mehra (Shahrukh Khan) from Darr {1993}, scares the sh** out of us viewers. He better be a hero. (Dialogue by Javed Siddiqui).

Sunny Deol in DaminiTareeq pe tareeq mili hai, insaaf nai mila mylord” by Sunny Deol from Damini {1993} not only conveyed “Judgement Delayed is Judgement Denied” but also established the actor as a strong pillar to be able to carry a film even for that minor role.
(Dialogue by Sutanu Gupta and Dilip Shukla)

Ye Hindu ka khoon ye Nana PatekarMusalman ka khoon…”
yet another madly entertaining performance by Nana from Krantiveer {1994} also bagged him the Filmfare Best Actor Award. (Dialogue by K. K. Singh, Filmfare Best Dialogue Winner)

Amrish Puri in DDLJJaa Simran jee le apni zindagi, is ladke se zyaada pyar tuje koi nai kar sakta…
by Amrish Puri from Dilwale Dulhaniya Le

kajol n Shahrukh in DDLJJaenge {1995} kind of liberates every young girl in love from the cruel fangs of her anti-romance Father. This sure was a Happy ending. (Dialogues by Javed Siddiqui and Aditya Chopra, Filmfare Best Dialogue Winner)

kajol n Shahrukh in DDLJBade-bade shehron me aisi chhoti-2 baatein hoti rehti hain Senorita
Yes of course, just like this one, me compiling this huge article on Bollywood’s dialogues. Anyway, this was about Shahrukh’s charm that sent girls into trance and made each one of them feel like Senorita. (Dialogue by Javed Siddiqui won him the 1995 Filmfare Best Dialogue Award)

KAran Arjun StarsMere Karan Arjun Aenge”…The eternal time lag and the Baddy waiting to be murdered while the heroes re-incarnate. Surely determined is the Maa (Rakhi) waiting for her sons since like forever. Karan-Arjun {1995} had to come back. (Dialogue by Anwar Khan)

Nana Patekar in YashwantEk Machchar saala Aadmi ko Hijda bana deta hai
Mad are his characters and so are his dialogues. None other than Nana Patekar from the film Yashwant {1997}.  (Dialogue by Hriday Lani).

kajol n Shahrukh in KKHHKuch kuch hota hai Anjali tum nahin samjhogi...”  another typical college going romantic Rahul (Shahrukh Khan) explains love to his apparently naive friend Anjali (Kajol), steals the hearts of millions through his dash in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai {1998}. (Dialogue by the Director Karan Johar, himself)

Sunny and Amrish Puri in GadarHindustan Zindabad tha, Hai , Aur Rahega” another out roar by Sunny Deol (Tara Singh) from the across border love story Gadar {2001}, engraves Long Live India deep in the hearts of every Indian. (Dialogue by Shaktimaan)

Aamir in RDBUniversity ke bahar duniya hume nachati hai…” The drunk otherwise fun Daljeet (Amir Khan) from Rang De Basanti {2006} utters the reality of life admitting he does not have the courage to face it. This sure is hell of a dialogue. (By Prasoon Joshi )

Shahrukh in Chak De70 minute hain tumhare paas” The Charming coach Kabir Khan (Shahrukh Khan ) motivates his under rated Indian Womens’ Hockey Team to play the game of their lives. They move on to win the world cup in Chak de! India {2007}. (Dialogue by Jaideep Sahni)

Shahrukh n Shreyas in OSOAgar kisi cheez ko dil se chaho to saari qaynaat…” an exaggerated version of our old films, Om Shanti Om {2007} had something good to offer too. Shahrukh’s dialogues. They may be an extension of the film’s melodramatic element, we still love them. (Dialogue by Mayur Puri)

Aamir in 3 IdiotsAAL IS WELL” Aamir’s make feel better monologue from 3 Idiots became a rage and is truly a mantra to follow. (Dialogue by RajKumar Hirani and Abhijat Joshi bagged them the 2009 Filmfare, IIFA and Star Screen Awards for the best dialogues.)

Salman in Wanted “Ek baar jo maine commitment kar di phir main apne apki bhi nai sunta…”  The trend of power packed one-liners in his 2nd innings rather began from Wanted {2009}. Salman wouldn’t listen to anyone now on, follows the trend in Dabangg, Ready and Body Guard. (Dialogue by Shiraz Ahmed)

Salman In DabanggHum tumme itne chhed karenge ki bhool jaoge ki saans kahan se len aur paade kahan se
Dabangg {2010} is the word for Chulbul Pandey (Salman Khan) who re-iterates the desi monologue through out the film to scare his opponents through his exhibition of confidence.
(Dialogue by Dilip Shukla)

Salman in Ready3 cheezen kabhi under estimate mat karna-I, me and myself” this seems to be a rather inspiring line for all of us to believe. Salman from Ready {2011} does it all for us.
 (Dialogue by Farhad-Sajid)
